Boorloo/Perth, Australia - Fresh off her debut E.P ‘Better Left Unsaid’, Boorloo/Perth’s Darcie Haven unveils her brand new single “In It Alone”. Releasing on November 13th, “In It Alone” was written as a reminder of your strength and happiness beyond a relationship—a message to yourself that you can thrive on your own.

In late 2023, Darcie reunited with Oscar Dawson [Holy Holy] to write what would become her latest single, “In It Alone”. After bumping into each other at a Melbourne party following her feature on Holy Holy’s 2023 album “Cellophane”—Darcie suggested a writing session, and thankfully, Oscar was on board. A few days later, Darcie made her way to Oscar’s studio on the Peninsula, and “In It Alone” was born.

“The writing of this track was not easy. Oscar is the master of a good hook, and really pushed me not to settle for one mediocre lyric or melody. I felt like I was in a songwriting bootcamp for a day.”

Darcie was fresh off a breakup at the time of writing, and was determined to channel her experience into a piece of work that would lift her spirits. “In It Alone” stands as a powerful message of empowerment and self-belief. The lyrics track a shift in mentality, as she finds confidence in knowing she can navigate life on her own once again. “In It Alone” captures Darcie’s journey to reclaiming her happiness and strength beyond the bounds of a relationship.

Fresh off a run of intimate bookshop pop-up shows in Melbourne and Sydney, supporting Australian rising star Chris Lanzon on tour and a string of SXSW Sydney Showcases, ‘In It Alone’ is Darcie’s 4th release for 2024 Following the release of her upcoming single, Darcie is also supporting Annie Hamilton live at Mojo’s Bar, Fremantle, on November 16th.

“In It Alone” will be available on all major platforms on November 13th.
