Naarm/Melbourne, Australia - Continuing her strong 2024 campaign, Holly Hebe takes you on a deep dive into the tug-of-war of love in her brand new indie-pop tune ‘Out of the Blue’. Releasing May 23rd, Hebe takes you on a journey through a type of love where the fear of giving into your feelings is stronger than the love itself.

The emotive new indie-pop track delves into the complexities of human emotion, exploring the apprehension of surrendering to one's feelings. Through evocative lyrics and mesmerising melodies, Hebe unveils the inner turmoil faced when navigating relationships.

‘Out of the Blue’ traverses those significant moments where intuition battles with desire, with the shadow of heartache ominously looming on the horizon. Hebe eloquently reveals the complexity of love's journey, capturing the longing to protect oneself from the inevitable sorrow that accompanies profound emotional bonds.

“It details the battle between head and heart– it’s about those times when you know someone isn't good for you, and you can see heartbreak at the end, but you can’t seem to give it up.”

During a visit to her parents' farm on the scenic South Coast of NSW, Hebe found the inspiration for her latest track, ‘Out of the Blue’. Seated at the kitchen table, surrounded by her music gear and laptop, she crafted the opening riff that would become the backbone of the song. The lyrics, born from personal reflection one night as she lay in bed, draw from a tumultuous period after high school when the notion of self-worth seemed intrinsically tied to relationship status.

‘Out of the Blue’ was executively produced with Edvard Hakansson (Phoebe Go, Juice Webster, Darcie Haven), demonstrating the collaborative efforts of Holly Hebe and Hakansson. Hebe led the initial production, bringing the song to its near completion before Hakansson joined to refine it further.

“We spent a day in the studio refining the guitar tones, re-recording the vocals and adding some extra sparkle to the track. Edvard is so good at bringing out that extra bit  of life to my music”

‘Out of the Blue’ is Hebe’s second release for the year, which follows the success of her latest single ‘Hat Hair’ which was released in February. Since the release of her debut single ‘Sink’ at the end of 2020, Holly has taken the Australian music industry by storm - with notable live shows supporting Alfie Templeman, Boo Seeka, Leisure and PRINS, playing NYE on the Hill and Loch Hart Music Festivals as well as her own two headline tours across the East Coast.

‘Out of the Blue’ will be available on all major platforms on May 23rd.
