Eora/Sydney, Australia - Rapidly cementing herself as one to watch in the Australian R&B scene, Jazzy Dale returns with her head-bopping new single "Show Me Off," featuring the now London-based Hip-Hop act Dann Dib. Continuing her knack for candid lyricism and heartfelt soul, Jazzy tells you exactly how she is expecting to be loved in this brand new single.
"Show Me Off" dives into the desire to feel special and cherished in a relationship, highlighting the craving to be the centre of a partner's attention. Inspired by the powerful songwriting of artists such as Raye, SZA, and Charli XCX, Jazzy reflects on a past relationship where, despite feeling loved, she craved more effort and appreciation. Tired of feeling undervalued, she ended the relationship and channelled her emotions into writing this empowering single.
"Writing this song was so therapeutic because I had been feeling these feelings for so long and there had been so many arguments. I really sat back and thought, 'I AM HER, and if my partner can’t give me that treatment… GOODBYE.' The same goes with performing it—it honestly makes me feel like a big ol' baddie.
If I’m going to be loved, I’m going to be loved out loud”
Jazzy Dale penned "Show Me Off" late last year alongside long-time collaborator Cyrus Villanueva, known for his work with Guy Sebastian, Charley, and Go-Jo. Cyrus has also co-written and produced with Jazzy on previous releases "My Romeo," "Mr Right," and "Sh*tty Car." Originally, the first verse included a rap from Jazzy, but the desire to add some more spice to the track led to an incredible feature from Dann Dib. Adding harmonies and doubles with Cyrus was a favourite part of the songwriting process for Jazzy, as it perfectly captured her vision for "Show Me Off."
“I first discovered Dann Dib on First Glance, one of my favourite Squid the Kid tracks. I liked his lyricism and tone and thought he would be perfect on Show me Off. It gives the validation the song is asking for from a confident male perspective.”
Jazzy is continuing what has already been an impressive year, which has seen her play shows with the likes of PANIA, Squid the Kid, and Bread Club. Her previous single "My Romeo" was a hint of what to expect for the rest of the year, receiving high praise from the Triple J Unearthed Network (Unearthed Track of the Day, Artist Spotlight, and Rotation) as well as multiple spins on Triple J, including a premiere on Soul Ctrl with Tanya Bunter.
"Show Me Off" will be available on all major streaming platforms on June 21st.
